GEILEE Aquasoil

Do Shrimp is one of the best shrimp stores I have ever shopped at. It took about two months to get the soil due to circumstances that are beyond their control. Imported soil isn't easy thing to import for many reasons. Customs can hold your stuff for weeks. Once that was cleared, I was excited to see it shipped on the tracking. Unfortunately Fedex Tracy which is known to lose packages actually lost my package. Someone at Fedex should look into Tracy location. It's well known and even named blackhole of package. This locations hurts small businesses. I appreciate the effort Do Shrimp went through.

It took a little bit to arrive but worked out well for me. The additional 1 litre bags are really appreciated. Definitely a fan, thanks!

Great texture and weight to this product. No ammonia is a game changer for me!

First, nothing but praise for Do Shrimps. I've bought KW Shrimp food as well as Geilee soil from them and they've always shipped out fast.

Regarding Geilee soil, it's "eh".

* I use RO/DI water for water changes.
* In tank KH is 0.
* The lowest my pH goes is 6.0. I can get the same results using SL Aqua Soil.
* Only reliable method I've found to get pH to 5.5 is using Fluval peat granules.
* It doesn't leach a lot of ammonia which is convenient.

It's not a bad soil. It's just not a 5.5 pH soil at least not in my tank. I know Kelvin Wong also endorses this soil, it just didn't work for me. I really want to get my hands on Ista Shrimp Soil 5.5!
