Great texture and weight to this product. No ammonia is a game changer for me!
First, nothing but praise for Do Shrimps. I've bought KW Shrimp food as well as Geilee soil from them and they've always shipped out fast.
Regarding Geilee soil, it's "eh".
* I use RO/DI water for water changes.
* In tank KH is 0.
* The lowest my pH goes is 6.0. I can get the same results using SL Aqua Soil.
* Only reliable method I've found to get pH to 5.5 is using Fluval peat granules.
* It doesn't leach a lot of ammonia which is convenient.
It's not a bad soil. It's just not a 5.5 pH soil at least not in my tank. I know Kelvin Wong also endorses this soil, it just didn't work for me. I really want to get my hands on Ista Shrimp Soil 5.5!
Fast shipping have not set up tank yet but excited to use I hear nothing but good things with substrate
Amazing
I used to use brightwell rio escuro but my ph even in new tanks was never below 5.7. The geilee is making a big difference. I’m on my third tub.
